What To Wear To A Royal Wedding

We've talked the dress. Here's what else we expect to see sported at the royal wedding

With just few days until the Royal Wedding, the families of Wills and Kate are preparing their big-day attire. What will the Royal family, the Middletons and the other guests be donning on the royal event?

The Gents
It’s expected that Wills will wear his RAF military uniform as each regiment has its own traditions and protocol for weddings. As his best man, and an officer with the Household Cavalry, Harry is expected to wear official military attire as well.

Male guests at the royal wedding are likely to wear a grey or black morning coat or “tailcoat” with a grey or yellow waistcoat and striped grey pants, topped with a top hat, to be tucked under the arm when indoors. Alternatively, the gents will don a lounge suit–a plain business suit worn with a collar and tie.

The Ladies
Women will wear a day dress, or perhaps a suit with a jacket, hat and gloves from Dents, a brand favoured by the Royals for their local hand stitching. Sleeves are a must for Westminster Abbey, and the crowd can anticipate a bevy of designer frocks from the royal brigade.

There has already been plenty of buzz around Bruce Oldfield, but we also expect to see floral frocks from Brit designers including Erdem, Vivienne Westwood and retro simplicity from Zac Posen. The young set is anticipated to opt for digital prints from on the rise designers such as Mary Katrantzou and Jonathan Saunders and light simple jackets from Stella McCartney. The bride’s sister Pippa Middleton was spotted shopping for strappy satin sandals with rhinestone details at high street shop Dune.

Both sides are expected to accessorize with the English tradition with a traditional hat. Stephen Jones, the master of millinery, is sure to be the favourite with his over-the-top floral and spider-like creations.
