Vera Wang Closes Bridesmaid Business

Why Canadian will have an even harder time scoring cute maids dresses

If you’re always a bridesmaid and never a bride, the pickings just got even slimmer as far as dresses go. Vera Wang, the designer who has built her reputation on offering bridal couture, announced this week that she’s getting out of the bridesmaid biz.  Wang’s 100+ doors stopped taking orders on Monday, although the stores will honour all orders that have already been placed, including at The Vera Wang Bridal salon in Toronto. The once special order bridesmaid collection will now be moving exclusively to David’s Bridal where Wang will be launching a less-expensive bridal collection called “White” this February. The bridesmaid collection is expected to hit David’s Bridal stores in June or July and will retail from $150 to $200.  The line is, of course, great on the wallet but unfortunately, not available in Canada.
