Who will be the chosen designer given the task of creating perhaps one of the most infamous dresses in history? The question has the fashion world guessing and Brits placing bets—literally. Though no official announcement has been made, all bets are on British designer Bruce Oldfield. According to bookmakers, who were only receiving one-way interest in Oldfield, all betting surrounding the designer of choice was suspended last week. Unfamiliar to many on this side of the pond, the designer is no stranger to the Royal family and has been a mainstay of British couture for decades. Creating gowns for the likes of Princess Diana, Sienna Miller and Rhianna, the designer retains a very traditional approach that utilizes luxe fabrics and conservative cuts. Although, we may have to wait until April 29th for the big reveal, the odds of Kate heading down the aisle in a Bruce Oldfield confection are looking pretty good.
