If mega-sparkle and mermaid silhouettes aren’t in your big-day vocabulary, look to West Coast label Truvelle, the understated bride’s answer to over-the-top gowns. Designer Gaby Bayona, who first fell in love with wedding dresses in her mother’s custom gown boutique as a child, sticks to an aesthetic rooted in “refinement, effortlessness and modernity.” Her newest collection is full of playful touches, like champagne sequined trains and grey ombré effects. “I’m drawn to wedding gowns because of the worth around them,” she says. “Clothes can be disposable, but I’m in the business of creating heirloom pieces.”
