Alberta Ferretti has always had a thing for romance. Her divine goddess gowns are a favourite of red carpet regulars who want to look their loveliest, so it’s no surprise that Milan’s queen of chiffon is now turning her attentions to designing ‘The Dress’ with the debut of her new bridal line. The “Forever” collection includes 14 ultra-feminine frocks, each named after a flower, and features all the Ferretti fixtures: lighter-than-air lace, glam details like pearls, Swarvoski and cabochons and delicate silver and platinum embroideries. Silhouettes are dreamy yet directional, ranging from silk Mikado and tulle ballgowns to a leg-baring shift festooned with feathers. Every one of these gorgeous dresses — which happen to take 30-80 hours of work to create — would make a stunning entrance-maker and worth saying ‘I do’ to.
