Episode 2: The Artists of Madrid
Tamy and Alanna discover the multiethnic Barrio de Lavapiés, a great destination for art lovers. They avoid the tourist-crowded museums and instead visit alternative galleries like Swinton & Grant, were they find obscure local pieces from the underground Spanish art movements, as well as more mainstream local and international artists. After looking through the gallery’s bookshop and stopping in the cafe, the duo then moves to the Justicia district where colourful fashion is always on full display. From very spartan stores to colourful boutiques like Do Design Madrid and Zahir Madrid  (the name comes from a Paulo Coelho novel, The Zahir, the favorite book of the shop owner), the picturesque vibes of the neighbourhood leave you feeling like you are living in a Pinterest board.

Tamy and Alanna finish the day walking around the Parque del Buen Retiro—one of the many free and beautiful things to do in Madrid, this spot is a the perfect place hang out and soak up the local vibe.
