FLARE fell in love with moody folk-pop artist Kandle’s debut album, In Flames, when it came out last March; now we’re excited to share the video for her latest single, “Not Up to Me,” exclusively on If you’ve ever struggled to help a loved one going through depression—or experienced it yourself—it’ll speak to you.

The 23-year-old singer, who hails from Victoria, B.C., writes songs to help her cope with sadness in her own life: “I find myself in bad places often, and I always use music to get out,” she told us. To promote this video, Kandle has partnered with the Canadian Women’s Foundation in the hopes that her music will help others, too.
