1. Go On a Joyride
Joyride Vancouver (1758 West 4th Ave.) is the place to go to repair your winter-ravaged hands. They offer seven different signature nail treatments using their house-made natural products and A+ list of nail polishes (from Deborah Lippman to Essie and OPI). Interested in something a little more daring? They are known for their amazing nail art, unmatched by any other salon in the city. Make sure to check out their cool marble surf board (and snap a pic for your Insta!) while you’re there.

2. Take a Coffee Break
Le Marché St George (4393 St. George St.) is the perfect spot to relax over breakfast or brunch with friends—or just to pop in to see their latest wares (they carry a curated assortment of ceramics, jams, honey, and the list goes on). Their quiche is drool-worthy and their coffees are just as delicious. The serene setting will quickly make this one of your favourite spots.

3. LOL at Local Comedians
You don’t have to go to L.A. or New York to see the best stand up comedians. Van City’s The Comedy Mix (1015 Burrard St.) is the spot to catch both new up-and-comers and A-list funny guys and gals. February’s line-up already includes Chris James, Cameron Esposito and Ari Shaffir. The best part? Tickets range from only $15-$25, so you can count on a highly entertaining night that won’t break the bank!
4. Get Healthy at Heirloom
When you think “vegetarian restaurant,” your mind doesn’t necessarily go straight to “Yum!” Well, think again, because Heirloom (1509 West 12th Ave.) is exactly that—so delicious and 100 per cent vegetarian! They offer breakfast (their huevos rancheros are to die for, FYI), brunch/ lunch and dinner, and just the space alone is worth a visit. With its bright windows and brick walls, it is the perfect spot for a meal out that will leave you feeling great!
