4. Check Out a Dance Production
Created by Emmy-nominated choreographers, Shaping Sound is a mash-up of dance styles and musical genres that you have to see. This production has a limited run from January 15–16 at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium (1415 14 Ave. N.W.), so make sure to get your tickets fast!

3. Party For a Cause
This year’s Bill Brooks Prostate Cancer Benefit is one you won’t want to miss. Its Wizard of Oz theme is sure to inspire a lot of fun—and great outfits! Start the year off by contributing to a good cause. January 29, at Hotel Arts, 119 12 Ave. S.W.

4. Head to Calgary’s Newest Hotspot
The Mission restaurant (1919 4 St. SW) is the latest addition to one of Calgary’s trendiest neighbourhoods. Stop in for lunch and make sure to try the albacore tuna ‘salad’ sandwich, or plan a night out and snack on delish salmon tartare and charcuterie.

5. Cross-Country Ski in the Rockies
You aren’t a true Albertan until you go out to the mountains in the middle of winter. And there’s no better time than the present to stay active and do good on those new year’s resolutions. We’ll see you at the trail head at Canmore’s Nordic Centre (1988 Olympic Way), where over 65 kilometres of groomed trails await.
