Brampton’s Alessia Cara, Shawn Mendes and the late Leonard Cohen won big at this year’s Juno Awards on Sunday (Apr. 2). Bryan Adams and Russell Peters hosted the ceremony, which saw Canada’s top musicians from coast to coast gather in Ottawa to salute the year’s best in music.

The late Leonard Cohen won two of the night’s biggest trophies, Album of the Year and Artist of the Year. The latter saw the crooner beat out chart-toppers Drake and The Weeknd. The visionary Canadian artist, who passed away on Nov. 7, 2016 at the age of 82, was also honoured during a touching tribute lead by Prime Minster Justin Trudeau and his wife Sophie.
