Sarah Chavez has the hair of an angel and the drive of a Maserati. “I have an intense personality,” says Chavez, who studied political science at the University of Toronto before moving to New York City. There, she was introduced through a mutual friend to model Anja Rubik, and soon after, was tapped to be the managing director of Rubik’s coffee-table glossy, 25 magazine. Alongside Rubik, she helps produce stunning erotica for women that encourages body positivity and sexual self-confidence. It’s an “art project with erotic undertones,” says Chavez, who also consults for coveted brands like Marc Jacobs. There are no ads, and each issue features lush visuals by the likes of Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, alongside cool-girl career inspo from powerful fashion types such as Stella McCartney and Margherita Missoni. “The magazine is really about representing a woman who is smart and strong and very in touch with her sensual side,” she says. “It really is about inspiring women.”
