FRIZZY WINTER HAIR

A Flare Beauty Editor answers your questions!

Q: I have the worst problem with the frizzies. I have tried a thousand products and all I can find is stuff that makes my hair crunchy. Do you know of any product that will tame my wild hair AND keep it soft?

A: This is a beauty battle everyone wants to win and one anti-frizz styling product can’t do it alone. Taming your frizzies starts in the shower with a frizz control or smoothing shampoo and conditioner—they have special silicones and conditioners to smooth down your hair cuticle.

For extra frizzy hair, try using a conditioning hair mask or treatment once a week. Style as usual, and finish with a good quality anti-frizz silicone-based serum. Before you buy, test the serum on the back of your hand. Rub it in like a hand lotion and if the slick feel evaporates quickly, you’ve found a winner. (Pro hair stylists adore Farouk Biosilk Silk Therapy). Apply one drop at a time warming it up in the palm of your hands before smoothing it over your hair avoiding your scalp (otherwise it will look greasy).
