Great fashion meets the Greater Toronto Area

Some of us aren’t lucky enough to have Toronto’s eclectic mix of shops outside our front doors. Thankfully, there is a new suburban spot perfect for of-the-moment fashion lovers who dwell outside the city. Shop girls Emily Dobbie and Kolleen Hanna have brought their well-edited Liberty Village boutique, Vocado, to their hometown in the ‘burbs. The ladies just opened their new downtown Oakville location this June, determined to bring insider fashion to the lakeside city. While the shop features a variety of brands, patriotic types can shop the nation with labels such as dace, lily + jae, BB Dakota, Dex and NADA marked with a maple leaf. “We’ve got a lot of talent in Canada and it’s [rarely] showcased in stores,” Dobbie explains.

Finally, Oakvillers don’t have to hop a train to Toronto in search of unique, on-trend fashion. Is this the beginning of a suburban fashion revolution?
