Last week, for World Food Day (October 16), Michael Kors staged a takeover of Times Square to promote and support its philanthropic initiative: Watch Hunger Stop. The event commenced at 6 a.m. when digital billboard screens (12 of them) began airing user-generated content gathered through Instagram using #watchhungerstop and Phhhoto booths stationed around the world at satellite events in Michael Kors stores. Amid the sea of shared content, a World Food Day video, which played on a 30-60 second loop, was also streamed on the billboards.
