Over a weekend jaunt to Montreal, Flare went one-on-one with Steeve Lapierre, VP of Marketing at the Quebec-based retailer Ogilvy, who shared with us two exciting projects with models of the moment, Crystal Renn and Coco Rocha.
Lapierre gave us the first look at Ogilvy’s fall catalogue, a 48-page spread of the season’s top looks set in a topsy-turvy world filled with miniature doll houses, tumbling blocks and champion show dogs. As we scrolled through images of the whimsical campaign, Lapierre shared that each model worked to a very different tune: a shuffle of high-energy tracks for Coco and the somber soundtrack of A Single Man for Crystal.
In addition to gracing the pages of the glossy, Crystal is also the first face to front Ogilvy FEMME – a new plus-size shop-in-shop opening this September. The nouveau space will offer clients a much-desired selection of clothing, in sizes ranging from 14-20, from a roster of labels including Marina Rinaldi, Elena Miro and Eileen Fisher.
As we bid adieu to the city of fashionable French, we carry with us Renn’s personal message of ‘beauty at any size,’ – a fitting mantra for a shop that continues to celebrate “la femme au naturel.”
