“Dear all, The MARC JACOBS PR team is sorry to inform you that our Press Day tomorrow in the Marc Jacobs store is cancelled, due to the theft of the SS12 collections during its transfer from Paris.”
Direct from the MJ team, all 46 looks from the designer’s Spring 2012 collection have gone missing. After leaving the Paris offices, the collection went MIA while on route to London for a press presentation.
What does this mean? Without samples, spring editorials and the red carpet will be Jacobs-less. Fingers crossed the designer finds his collection ASAP [Telegraph].
Update: It has been confirmed that only parts of the Marc Jacobs Spring 2012 collection, which includes apparel and accessories, are missing, but not the entire line. The MJ team acknowledged the theft on Twitter but according to the account business continues to go on, with our without the missing pieces. Luckily there are doubles for press and red carpet usage, but their presentation in London has been cancelled until the theft clears [WWD].
