How do you uncover the next generation of design stars? If you’re Triumph International, then you [very smartly] put together a global design competition. Going back to basics, the luxe lingerie mega brand today hosted its third annual Triumph Inspiration Award, a student design competition that saw students from George Brown and Seneca College in Toronto showing designs based on the theme “Shape Sensation”.
George Brown’s Justin Singh scooped the prize for his “Sands of Time” creation inspired by modern corsetry. The judging panel, including Marilyn Denis, designer Mark Belford and and FLARE‘s own Lisa Tant, sifted through the entries and made the tough decision – to the delight of Singh and the other runners up; Emma Burchell (also from George Brown) and Michelle Caravaggio of Seneca College.
Singh will travel to London Fashion Week in September to square off against winners from the international heats and reveal who’s the best designer for the boudoir. The winner of the Grand Finale takes home the 15,000 Euros prize and the chance to see their designs created and sold by Triumph. Good luck Justin!
