Shoes, shoes, shoes!
I never thought that the “Oh My God, Shoes” video, which went viral in 2007, would become my personal mantra while perusing an upcoming shoe collection—but the fashion world has a way of surprising us. On Monday, I spent my afternoon swooning over Town Shoes’ Spring 2014 collection in a refurbished manor home while munching on two-nibble brownies and listening to a playlist that included a jazz version of Michael Jackson’s “Beat It”. All of the consumer favourites—available across the country at Town Shoes locations—had their fancy footwear lined up for industry members and media alike. Oh, and Jeanne Beker was there!
The Sam Edelman, Franco Sarto and Vince Camuto collections all featured two trends that are similar in aesthetic: laser-cutting and woven leather.
Vince Camuto used laser-cut throughout his fall capsule collection and his spring collection. These wonderful little lace-ups were best in show.
Franco Sarto had these great flats in black and red with laser-cut front and back portions with the middle uncovered.
A Vince Camuto shoe model walking around in two laser-cut shoes. We enjoyed Fontanella, the dark beauty on the left.
Sam Edelman made the laser-cut rock and roll with these black and white stunners.
There was a ton of woven leather. Franco Sarto had these great, very traditional-looking lace-ups.
Vince Camuto had a slip-on version in metallics. A modern take on the look compared to Sarto’s.
So now we wait patiently until we can ditch our warm socks and boots and let our feet breathe in all these foot-exposing styles.
