Toronto Style Diary: Tandem Coffee, Waxon Waxbar & More

Blogger Gracie Carroll, our Toronto localist-at-large, shares the best shops, restaurants, events and style news from the Six

Tandem Coffee
It was love at first sight when I walked into Tandem Coffee in Corktown and spotted these adorable treats. Along with quirky cookies, the modern yet cozy space offers other Japanese snacks, great coffee from local roasters and even a well-curated selection of vintage homewares.

Waxon Waxbar
Just across the Don Valley River, things are coming up roses, especially along Queen Street East. As a resident in the area, I couldn’t have been happier when Waxon Waxbar opened up a Riverside location. When I finally had the chance to visit in person, it was great service as per usual. Welcome to the neighbourhood!

Civello Rosedale
For those who love Aveda as much as I do, getting pampered at a Civello salon is heaven. Normally I visit the Queen and Duncan location, but I was pleasantly surprised when I booked in at the Rosedale salon for the first time—the décor is wonderfully ornate, with a hint of rock ’n’ roll glamour—just like the owner, Ray Civello.

Winners College Park
What can I say? I love a #WinnersFabFind! When I found these Proenza Schouler sandals in the Runway section of my favourite Winners location at College Park—one of my favourite places to score a major designer deal—I couldn’t leave them behind. They were perfect for a recent trip to Lisbon.
