Laura Siegel’s SS'14 offering was awash in soft blues and nudes. Tie-dye prints and easy shapes made clear that this was a collection meant for sitting seaside and letting the ocean breeze run through your side-swept hair. From open-weave sweaters to voluminous leather shorts, Siegel’s sustainable and ethically-designed collection was eco-chic in every sense of the word. Floaty dresses were grounded by simple booties, while loose low-crotch pants were elevated with structured jackets. Dangerously thin straps adorned the barely there backs of many dresses, hinting at an underlying feminine message. The finishing touch? Bold necklaces and round sunglasses; turns out enjoying the ocean breeze doesn’t mean you have to leave the city behind.
