While U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama’s fashion fearlessness is already well-chronicled, we have to hand it to her for continually pushing the politico-style archetype. Never one to shy away from a headline-worthy ensemble, last night Obama wore a bronze sequin Moschino sheath dress at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute’s Awards Gala in Washington, D.C. We thought this look deserved the spotlight, as it may very well be the first time a First Lady has worn the glitzy metallic fabric long worn by party girls in the 20’s and again in the 70’s. But what, with retro riffs appearing on the runway at NYFW, (hello, Marc Jacobs) we feel her timing is appropriately ahead of the curve. What do you think?
