Hey Stretch!
It’s hard to think of long legs as a disadvantage – model pins are the fantasy of most average height girls – but shopping as a tall goddess for pants can be a challenge. Ankle-skimming jeans do not a full wardrobe make. The Canadian shopping site, Longlegs.ca, is here to help. The online boutique has just re-launched with even more designer denim, work-appropriate trousers (along with every other piece of an outfit) with inseams fit for a girl with gams that go on for days.

Fall preview – Fullum & Holt

This week, our Market Editor Tammy Palmer is loving luxury leather goods from Canada.

The venerable leather goods company based in Montreal, which manufactures totes for luxe labels such as Coach, has once again teamed up with Flare fave designer Denis Gagnon for Fall 09. The collaboration, now in its third season, boasts a collection of messenger totes, oversize spiral bags, and weekenders. All bags retail between $500-700, a small price to pay for Denis’s stellar signature stamp – ruching, bands and fringe – seen in his artistically divine ready-to-wear collection. -Tammy Palmer

Style In Store

After 35 years in the industry, Canadian label Spanner has opened their first standalone store in Canada. Last week we were treated to a preview of the sleek space, which is located in the fast-developing Shops at Don Mills, just minutes after the renovation was complete. A preview of the Fall collection showed off some fantastic outerwear – colourful coats, faux exotic skins and cool metallics – plus their signature wide array of separates. The store is now open – so get shopping!

Fall Preview – BB Dakota

We’re back on the market checking out all the hot collections for Fall and this week we took a peek at BB Dakota. The affordably chic line is designed by Gloria Brandes, originally from Montreal, based in California, and offers key pieces for the season’s trends as well as mod classics like car coats and shifts. There’s something for everyone in this cute range. Looking for something from the 80s? We love this tweed double-breasted coat that channels a love-struck John Cusack in Say Anything. Love off-duty model grunge? There’s cool plaids and Navaho print knits that would be perfect with skinny jeans. Pick a trend, you’ll find it here.

Soles4Souls

Soles4Souls

Feel-good Footwear

We all love that happy high that a new pair of skyscraper heels gives us, but on May 8th, shoes make the entire world a little bit happier. Soles4Souls will generate funds with their International Shoes & Champagne benefit gala, to aid impoverished families overseas that live without this wardrobe necessity. A live and silent auction of celebrity-signed shoes kicks off the night, with many of the footwear designers in attendance. Flare faves Pour La Victoire, Casadei, BCBG, and L.A.M.B, plus dozens more, are all participating brands. Hosted by Lianne Laing. Tickets are $50.
