In the spirit of the holiday season and the end of the calendar year, my fellow FLARE Fashion interns and I were asked to cast our votes for the most stylish celebrities of 2010.

Whether it’s minimalist chic, old Hollywood glamour or an eccentric edge, these ladies have brought their sartorial A-game to red carpets, industry soirees and city streets all year long.

See if your favourite fashionista made our cut.

Anna Dello Russo
VOGUE Japan’s creative consultant, Anna Dello Russo, has long been praised within fashion circles, and this year her daring looks have garnered ample international appreciation. Intern Stephanie Di Biase appreciates Dello Russo’s “effortless take on eccentric style,” and feels the 48-year-old “proves woman can look elegant yet still have fun with fashion at any age.”

Emma Watson
2010 was the year Harry Potter star Emma Watson shed her girl-next-door image and debuted a bold pixie cut. Samantha Boudreau admires how the Burberry spokeswoman “started making edgier choices by incorporating more black and leather into her wardrobe” in the last few months, while continuing to appear “effortless, modern and ahead of the fashion curve.”

Carey Mulligan
Josh Gencarelli votes breakout actress Carey Mulligan for a woman who embraces everything a style icon should. “Her red carpet choices mix sophistication with edgy and feminine touches, but more notably I enjoy how she embodies a 50s-inspired ladylike looks a la Audrey Hepburn.”

Daphne Guinness
With a notable family fortune, signature black and blonde hair and a plethora of designer friends, socialite Daphne Guinness is arguably one of the most fashionable contemporary women. Caitlin Agnew admires the 43-year-old mother of three as “a woman who personifies glamour sophistication and what it means to have a uniquely personal sense of style.”

Marion Cotillard
I don’t recall a red carpet moment when Marion Cotillard didn’t get it right. The screen siren and Dior spokeswoman is my choice for this year’s most fashionable. Always tasteful, never controversial, her classic French glamour with a modern twist makes her a fashion icon to be reckoned with.
