It’s refreshing to see that even mega-retailers are taking to heart the season’s more pragmatic views towards “real” women. JACOB made an official company statement recently committing to a “no retouching policy”. As of this Fall, the label will no longer digitally alter the bodies of its models in images for both its lingerie and main lines. And while the announcement does not extend to colour calibration and skin smoothing, it’s certainly a groundbreaking move for a big name brand. Compare for yourself: three different versions – the raw, campaign and old-style retouched shots – will all be posted side-by-side in stores across Canada.
