3. Trends No More
By now, you’ve come to expect the templated post-season trend report, a collective reflection on the same yet ever so slightly different takes on the season (micro florals! sheer panelling! nods to nautical!). But near the end of the fall 2015 circuit, Phoebe Philo, revered creative director at Céline, threw editors for a loop: her lineup of models came down the runway in what could only be described as a veritable mishmash. Slinky slip dresses, nomadic tunics and Victorian underpinning-like puffer jackets all had their place. Even the beauty looks—which ranged from red lips to striking blue shadow to nothing at all—were seemingly chosen at random. A one-off tip to individuality or the start of a trendless trend?
