You'd probably be hard-pressed to find a real proponent of sweatpants in fashion. The slandering of the sweatpant has become so entrenched in hyperbole that it could almost lead one to believe that they're responsible for world hunger. But as of late, a handful of designers seem to be changing their tune, to the chagrin of many. From authentic athletic iterations (yes, with drawstrings) to perfectly slinky, silky pajama pant-style trousers, sweatpant-esque bottoms are quickly losing their stigma. The new breed of sweatpants is available in a plethora of prints, like pretty watercolour florals that are ideal for the warm weather, but also embrace their more athletic origins in classic black and heather greys. Sweats-style bottoms pair best with pieces that will dress them up easily; minimal midi-height heels, a tailored jacket and embellished extras do just the trick. Bet you thought you'd never see the day where you'd be off the hook for wearing sweats!
