The Printed Pant
If you’re not ready to bare your legs this summer but a heavy denim jean reminds you more of snowflakes than sunshine, a pair of light trousers are your best bet—but we’re not talking about just any pair of one-tone pants. Instead, play up your lower half with a catchy print, but keep the shape structured with a tapered leg that’s polished, not slouchy (not that we don’t love the casual cool look of a perfect pair of pyjama pants).
For Spring 2013, House of Holland and Peter Pilotto presented some brightly coloured options, while Erdem stayed true to form with head-to-toe florals. Pair your print with a neutral on top and a flat loafer or strappy sandal, or be a bit more daring and mix prints in similar colour palettes. Ease into the mix-and-match game with a colourful patterned trouser and black-and-white striped top, or try black-and-white prints of various shapes and sizes.
