Spring inspiration: Yves Saint Laurent
Not that we needed an excuse to look to Yves Saint Laurent for inspiration when getting dressed in the morning, but this year, spring’s top trend is not just a nod, but a full bow and curtsy to the legendary designer. After last year’s 40-year YSL retrospective at the Petit Palais museum in Paris, designers were feeling that ’70s groove. Vibrant colours, exotic safari jackets, gypsy dresses, chinois wraps, le smoking suits, obi belts and peasant blouses set out a sartorial landscape that feels new again. From the Marakkech period to safari chic, there’s a YSL moment for everyone.
