Advanced Style
In the world of street style, selfies and OOTDs, where trends reign supreme, Ari Seth Cohen’s popular blog, Advanced Style, set itself apart by shifting the focus from It girls sporting It items to New York’s endlessly inspiring contingent of stylish seniors. Director Lina Plioplyte brings the blog to life in Advanced Style, which premieres next week at the Hot Docs Film Festival in Toronto. These fashionable femmes prove that true style comes down to who you are, not what you’re wearing.

Dior and I
Filmmaker Frédéric Tcheng (Valentino: The Last Emperor; Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has To Travel) goes behind the seams of one of the industry’s most illustrious design houses. Screening this week at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York, Dior and I follows newly-appointed designer Raf Simons as he prepares his first couture collection for the storied fashion label.

Saint Laurent
Just announced as an official selection for this year’s Festival de Cannes in May, French director Bertrand Bonello’s Saint Laurent is one of two Yves Saint Laurent films debuting this year. And while it may not have the support of the late designer’s long-term partner, Pierre Bergé, we’re guessing its sexy cast—French model Gaspard Ulliel as Saint Laurent and Léa Seydoux as Loulou de la Falaise—plus the backing of Kering (who currently owns the house) will result in a movie that’s as stylish as it is scandalous.
