Tired of seeing the same old stuff? Take note of the newest boutique to hit Old Montreal’s Saint Paul strip: Cahier d’Exercices is a modern stone-and-timber space stocked with cutting-edge clothing and accessories from labels such as Céline, Dries Van Noten, Rick Owens Palais Royal, Kimberly Ovitz and more.

“There are so many amazing collections, from both up-and-coming as well as established designers, that are not represented anywhere in Montreal,” says avant-minded owner  Laura Gurantiano. “I wanted to do something totally different in women’s wear.”

As for the shop’s clever concept, “We wanted a name that could evolve with our collections. Cahier d’Exercices (‘notebook’ in English) makes us think of a work in progress: notes, ideas, sketches, whatever you want it to be.”

Whether or not you’re headed back to school this fall, there’s no better time to take a page out of this high-fashion book.
