Last year, Lily Allen announced that she was taking a break from making music to open a vintage clothing shop with her sister, Sarah Owen. Lucy in Disguise opened in September in London’s Covent Garden, and less than a year later, has spawned a clothing line of the same name. The 18-piece collection, which features mostly dresses, was inspired by the sisters’ muse, Lucy, whom Allen describes as a “a time-traveling fashionista who’s inviting you to explore her wardrobe.”
This certainly shows in the range of styles—everything from curve-hugging ’40s-style gowns to ’50s honky tonk frocks to embroidered flower child baby dolls to Studio 54 jumpsuits—which gives ones the impression of flipping through racks at a vintage boutique. The collection will be available at a handful of retailers, including: Allen and Owen’s boutique, Holt Renfrew, as well as online at lucyindisguiselondon.com.
