Will mum-to-be Kate Middleton be sporting Sarah Burton designs during her pregnancy? We sure hope so– and so does the designer.
The Alexander McQueen creative director (who is currently pregnant with twins) was hand picked by Middleton to design the stunning wedding dress she walked down the aisle in last year. After receiving the OBE (Order of the British Empire) in a ceremony at Buckingham Palace on Thursday, she revealed to reporters her ambition to create maternity clothes for the Duchess.
Burton was on honoured with the OBE from the Prince of Wales for her hard work and dedication in British Fashion. The designer, who had been involved with the British fashion house since 1996, stepped into her role as creative director in May 2010 after the death of Lee Alexander McQueen. Since then her involvement with the Royal family has not just included designing the royal wedding dress, but being named in the Queen’s 2012 Birthday Honour’s List.
