Has the music stopped? In this round of fashion musical chairs, we’re hearing strong whispers that fashion’s leading man Marc Jacobs is off to takeover the house of Dior.
Jacobs, who currently leads two namesake labels, as well as Louis Vuitton, is rumoured to be next in line at the French label. This week in Paris, both parties are scheduled to meet and discuss the opportunity at hand.
With Galliano out at Dior and Jacobs rumoured to fill his seat, the question lies: who will fill the spot at Louis Vuitton? It is said that Phoebe Philo of Céline will bring her minimalist edge to the iconic brand. Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Dior and Céline are all owned by luxury goods conglomerate LVMH. [WWD]
