On the Louboutin heels of a whirlwind press tour, the powerhouse cast of Ocean’s 8 stepped out on the red carpet in New York for the world premiere of the female-led reboot. And everyone was there: Cate Blanchett, Awkwafina, Sandra Bullock, Rihanna, Mindy Kaling, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter and Sarah Paulson (phew!). You could say it was kind of a big deal to see this glammed-up cast of Hollywood heavyweights join forces on the red carpet. Especially in the wake of the #MeToo era and the pushback against the lack of female representation in Hollywood.
And the Internet was quick to applaud not only their bold fashion choices, but the empowering statement these women made as they stood together on the red carpet.

I don’t actually think I’m going to be able to handle the entire Ocean’s 8 cast all together on a red carpet…I’m already crying

When Ocean’s 8 is in theaters I will go watch it every single day and blow my money on a movie that has 8 women in it who I all want to marry pic.twitter.com/oCIRi3Ltia

Clearly, girl power has been the film’s MO since it was announced that the all-female reboot would be stacked with some of Hollywood’s most influential women. The fact that Rihanna shined bright like purple metallic diamond in her futuristic Givenchy dress and Sandra Bullock stunned in a gorgeous Elie Saab gown was a delightful bonus for the rest of us.
This cast sent out a powerful message that women standing together is one look that will never go out of style.
