This Wednesday, Kimberley Newport-Mimran returns to the runway with her Spring 2012 collection from Pink Tartan. The designer, and wife of Joe Mimran of Joe Fresh, recently made her grand American debut during New York Fashion Week this past September. The presentation style show seen in NY will come to life on the runway in Toronto, and here the designer shares a few of her influences and inspirations from the new collection:
On her muse: “A modern day Brigitte Bardot with a nod to the ’60s–effortless chic”
On her fabric of choice this season: “I am loving power stretch a knit that I treat like a woven.”
On her favourite review at NYFW: “If Audrey Hepburn and James Bond had a daughter she would be wearing Pink Tartan.”
On an upcoming collaboration: Lucy Sykes, childrenswear designer
