The Met Gala brings fashion lovers like ourselves to our click-happy knees. This year's exhibit, PUNK: Chaos to Couture, inspired some guests to take a rebellious risk, while others went a more traditional gala-means-gorgeous-gown route. We're pleased as punch either way, though a certain soft spot is reserved for the unexpected: after all, the Met Gala embraces the outrageous. A few clear trends emerged and a few surprises took our breath away, but the clear winner, perhaps unsurprisingly, was black. But never fear, friends: abstract prints, texture, leather, feathers, sheer panels, impromptu dye jobs and more made this Met Gala carpet one for the memory books.
