Fashion’s elite stood a little straighter yesterday to welcome design legend Oscar de la Renta to town. The überraffable gentleman touched down on Toronto to attend an intimate croquet-themed Q&A at Holt Renfrew and host a children’s charity fundraiser gala. You will have to wait for our Editor-in-Chief Lisa Tant’s report on the latter in an upcoming issue of Flare. Meanwhile, the Holt’s event was attended by a select thirty ladies who we presume each boast impressive arsenals of Mr. de la Renta’s eternally elegant creations. With charm to spare, he waxed on. Topics included his amazing career, design inspiration and the orphanage and school he founded in his native Dominican Republic, Casa del Nino.
