At Diepo’s fall presentation, flat-screen monitors broadcast young does leaping in the snow, tree stumps lined the runway, and designers Justine Diener and Kristin Poon delivered their take on cottage dressing. The duo has built a local following on lingerie-inspired separates that blur the line between boudoir and daywear, but decided to go in a different different direction this season. The deer-coloured toppers and forest green separates were fine, just fine, but the line’s signature seductiveness was sorely missed. That said, a graphic black and white feather print used for tunics and simple dresses struck the right note.
