A Parisan garden party set the stage for Sarah Stevenson’s debut at LG Fashion Week, where an intimate presentation showcased some of the designer’s custom-made prints. The floral designs were sweet and feminine, while a kaleidoscope pattern brought a touch of modernity. The prints are certainly Stevenson’s strong suit, as the cuts and fabrication left room for improvement.
At Baby Steinberg, a salvage-themed collection included corks and garbage bags. A steel wool train was surprisingly fluid and the lily pad gown was impossible to ignore. The message is certainly to be applauded – one woman’s trash is indeed another’s treasure – but at the end of the day, this is a fashion show, and the repurposed pieces were a bit stiff and unflattering.
