Toronto Fashion Week: Rudsak Fall 2013
High energy mixed with excitement is the best way to describe the feelings that emulated from the Rudsak show last night. Starting off with a high tempo Goldfrapp track, we couldn’t help but bounce in our chairs as we saw models strut down the runway in shiny gold leather and padded space-age jackets.
Rudsak designer Evik Asatoorian explained the “Stardust” inspiration to us backstage: “We always start with an era: the late '60s/'70s, early disco but rock ending. David Bowie. Being in space, padded." A perfect description of what we saw. The padded details throughout the looks were key to the Rudsak collection. Not only to identify the outer-space connection, but also as a new and rebellious aspect of the pieces. “We [went] back to our DNA, which is a true rebel-ish look,” said Evik.
