The season’s 70s slant was in full tilt at Pink Tartan, where flared pants, jumpsuits and wooden platforms dominated the runway. Designer, Kimberly Newport-Mimran’s Halston inspiration was evident in the fluid fabrics and loose silhouettes. If was fun and flirty, with neon brights, ikat and animal prints, but ultimately, it was the easy styling that gave its jet-set appeal.
At Jessica Jensen and Alexander Berardi, the mood was more Hamptons than St. Tropez. Nautical-striped tops and khakis were accented with gladiator flats and woven bags. An assortment of draped skirts and harem pants felt effortless and beach-ready. Certainly a respectable outing for the first-time designers.
