Another veteran to Vancouver, Patricia Fieldwalker, closed the opening night’s shows with an elegantly classic array of lingerie. Of note was the soft palette of lilac, blue, pink, peach, and the palest of greens, that skimmed across the stage in any number of chemises, negligees, robes, and pyjamas. Each made of the lightest satin silk that gently picked up the flow of air under each model’s gait. Detecting a theme from earlier in the evening, several paint splattered patterns in bright pink/purple/gold floated out in the shape of ankle-length night gowns. But the highlight, for me at least, were the wrap style robes that opened the show: floor length with thigh high slits, narrow sleeves which flared into a champagne bell, all in gorgeous jewel tones.
