Paris Vogue pulled out all the stops for the magazine’s 90th anniversary on Thursday night, with a party entitled Eyes Wide Shut. Dress code: Masquerade. The fashion crowd threw themselves into the spirit with abandon, many donning masks imported straight from Venice, with or without wigs and helmets, in leather, lace or metal. The evening drew fashion’s major stars, both established and rising, from Miuccia Prada to Hedi Slimane, Christophe Decarnin, Alexander Wang, Joseph Altuzurra, Prabal Gurung, Dsquared2’s Dean and Dan Caeten, Francisco Costa, Diane von Furstenberg and Christian Louboutin, flanked by mother and daughter team Bianca and Jade Jagger. Karolina
Kurkova posed gamely against the ornate fireplace in the downstairs salon of the Hotel Pozzo di Borgo (once the home of Karl Lagerfeld), while Gisele made an exuberant late appearance wearing a Philip Treacy creation, with the designer in tow. Having to guess who was behind which mask lent the evening a certain frisson: “It’s so exciting that
everyone played the game,” said Paris Vogue Editor in Chief Carine Roitfeld, dressed in a leopard number by Givenchy with matching mask.
