The anticipation surrounding the Joe Fresh runway show is always high, and this season was no exception. Packed to the rafters, editors, industry and fashion enthusiasts were not left disappointed. Cleverly referencing a recent link to Scouts Canada, the opening look (camp counselor chic?) set the tone for a young and playful collection of covetable sportswear. The crisp button-ups, close-cropped cargos and khaki Bermuda shorts were effortlessly chic, while the floral-embellishments, bows and pleated skirts added dimension. By mid-point, perforated trims, sequins and neon took it to a whole other place – one we’re not quite sure fit in – but were loving nonetheless.

The most successful looks were perhaps the least fussy : a slouchy wide-legged trouser in white was the ultimate in easy dressing. As was the floor-length ivory skirt – a perfect example of relaxed sophistication. Here’s to hoping we’ll see most of this collection on the shelves come spring.
