Nautical stripes, cool khaki and breezy sheers had Sears’ runway outing with Attitude hitting all the right notes. Picking up on some of the season’s key trends, the collection featured longer hemlines, fuller silhouettes and of course, orange. A chambray shirt-dress, and chevron-striped column made the most impact, as did the final look – an effortlessly fluid floor-length shirt and simple tee in white. All-in-all this was a successful show for Sears, one with wearable pieces and consumer appeal.
At Rachel Mara, the outcome was mixed. The loose cuts and flowy fabrics resignated with the season’s slant, but the hodgepodge of patterns and ho-hum bottoms left us feeling lukewarm.
