The legendary white tents grace the silver screen

New York Fashion Week: The Movie

In a new movie titled The Tents, director James Belzer and some of fashion’s biggest stars put the spotlight on the iconic New York Fashion Week space. “With a diverse range of voices, we take the audience on an exciting journey through NY fashion history. The term “The Tents” now resonates as a metaphor for the fashion show venue itself as well as the overall fashion week experience,” said Belzer.

In the documentary, famous fashion faces like Betsey Johnson, Carolina Herrera, Donna Karan, Isaac Mizrahi, Tommy Hilfiger, Zac Posen, and Fern Mallis, shared their fondest memories from the iconic location. Whether it was the plaster that fell on Suzy Menkes’ head and caused an uproar in fashion media or Tommy Hilfiger’s last presentation under the tents before the big move to Lincoln Center, the new movie pays homage to one of the industry’s most important landmarks.
