Arizona. Muse. With a name that sounds like a scent in Tom Ford’s apothecary or a fruity holiday-maker cocktail, this New Mexico native, 22, has captivated fashion followers. Though the mother of one only made her runway debut this spring, she has quickly garnered a desert heatwave of acclaim. Not only did she open and close both the Prada and Miu Miu shows – the fashion equivalent of a debutante coming out at the Crillon Ball – but she has already been featured on the cover of Vogue Italia (shot by Steven Meisel, who also launched Coco Rocha’s career), alongside Danish veteran Freja Behja. While her high cheekbones and wide-set eyes certainly are striking, whether she has that extra something special – an enigmatic pull the very best models use to enchant onlookers – remains to be seen. Anna Wintour, for one, has praised the new face and compared her allure to Canadian supermodel-of-all-supermodels Linda Evangelista and Russian doll Natalia Vodianova. Muse may lack their hyper-distinctive features, but time will tell if she has the vivre of a true catwalk star.
