The stylish essentials FLARE’s Editor in Chief Lisa Tant plans on packing.

What have you done to get ready for fashion week? “I prepare by making a list of six different outfits. I try not to over-pack because I always come home with a few treats.”

How do you combat the tricky weather? “The key to packing for the shows in the winter months is several great coats and comfortable boots. Sometimes we’re forced to wait out in the cold while the models finish their last run-through. I have a couple of cashmere berets that look great and keep me warm – plus save me from the occasional bad hair day.”

What do you bring the most of? “I’ll be packing three coats this season: my standby black boiled wool swing coat by Lida Baday, a muskrat jacket from Izma, and a chocolate faux fur trench by H&M for Lanvin.”

What essentials work overtime? “My Prada motorcycle boots are heaven. I can wear them all day on-the-run and they look great with everything. My other essentials: #1 is my Blackberry. I’ll also pack an iPad, laptop, digital camera, granola bars, foot cream, a photo of my guy and Harley (my pug).”

What’s your top fashion week style tip? “I like to bring a few colourful pieces – like an Erdem blouse and Dries van Noten skirt – to liven up my black and charcoal grey basics.”
