Canadian model Irina Lazareanu opened the Mackage show with a bang in a sexy leather crop top, pencil skirt and classic moto jacket. Delightful co-creative directors Elisa Dahan and Eran Elfassy took a few minutes to chat with us about their inspiration for the Spring 2013 collection. This season is about the effortless chic of street style mixed with a modern 80’s silhouette.

In a time where the moto jacket has become a wardrobe staple, the duo wanted to update the essential piece in coloured skins: “Leather is having such a moment right now,” shared Elfassy, “we loved adding silver foils and mixing other fabrics to create a new take on rocker chic.”  Dahan acknowledge that they “have always liked to contrast different textures, it is who we are and it’s more fun now because we can play with colour.” They wanted to create a masculine vs. feminine feel but without losing their signature tailoring. The pair also collaborated with Caesar Stone on the accessories.

They admitted using materials normally reserved for countertops was a challenge but the two were able to create graphic pieces that complimented the tough leathers nicely. Hits from the collection include a blush trench with leather sleeves and an ombre blue and white moto vest.
