While many may think that a collaboration between Canadian designer Lucian Matis and Baileys Irish Cream seems unusual, Matis himself isn’t surprised at all. The designer, who creates his line to appeal to a stylish, confident woman, says, “The partnership with Baileys Irish Cream seemed like a natural fit, because these are qualities that [their] brand also celebrates in women.” The dress was put together to emulate the new silhouette of the Irish Cream bottle — which Baileys says celebrates a new sense of femininity and style — and is made largely with pieces of glass from the bottles. It also seems inspired by Matis’ collection for Fall 2012, with its tight-fitting bodice and princess-style skirt. The unveiling of the gown will take place during Matis’ Toronto Fashion Week Fall 2013 presentation on Friday, March 22.
